Popstar Olly Murs has quit as host of The Xtra Factor.
Olly, who came second in X Factor 2009, presented the ITV2 spin-off show with Caroline Flack for two years.
He told the Sun: “It’s going to be a shame not to do The Xtra Factor again. I’m gutted because it’s been a huge part of my life for the last two years.
“But I think whoever Caroline decides to pick, whoever the bosses decide to pick to replace me is going to be great. I don’t know if she would do it on her own.
“And we’ll see what happens in the future. I mean, you never know.”
The singer, who has had four number one hits with “Please Don’t Let Me Go”, “Heart Skips a Beat”, “Dance with Me Tonight” and “Troublemaker”, says he wants to concentrate on his songwriting.
“Everything that I’m doing now is for my future and for my family for the rest of my life, so I’m trying to build something for everyone.”
The tenth series of the X Factor hits TV screens later this year..
