Simon Thomas is set to replace Jeff Stelling on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper says Simon saw off competition from Caroline Barker and Julian Warren, and will be announced next week.

Stelling left Sky Sports at the end of last season following 25 years with the company.

Thomas was one of Sky’s main Premier League presenters before stepping away following the death of his wife six years ago.

He has since been building a successful freelance career, including working with Amazon Prime and Sky Sports.

Thomas spent six years presenting Blue Peter before joining Sky, where he was a main presenter on Sky Sports News.

It has been a massive off-season for Sky Sports with the departure of Martin Tyler and Geoff Shreeves as well as the end of Soccer AM.

The new football season starts in earnest on Saturday 5th August 2023.
