BT Sport and Sky Sports today announced the first batch of Barclays Premier League fixtures to be broadcast on TV from Saturday 16th August to Sunday 30th November 2014.

Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal will all be shown at least six times on Sky Sports, while the other 15 clubs will be on at least three times with a match coming from all 20 Premier League grounds on Sky.

Sky viewers can enjoy seven live Manchester United fixtures – including Louis van Gaal’s toughest tests against Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea.

BT Sport will kick-off the new season with Louis Van Gaal’s first Premier League game in charge of Manchester United, as the 2012-13 champions welcome Swansea City to Old Trafford.

The highlight of the opening rounds on BT Sport comes on September 13, when FA Cup winners Arsenal welcome the Premier League champions Manchester City to the Emirates.

At the end of September BT Sport will broadcast the first Merseyside derby of the season, with Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool hosting Roberto Martinez’s Everton at Anfield.

Barney Francis, Managing Director of Sky Sports, said: “49 out of 50 of the most popular Premier League games were shown on Sky Sports last season and a quick look at our opening schedule of fixtures shows Sky Sports is still the place to go for more of the games that matter.

“With more football than ever before, including the launch of our fantastic new European football channel Sky Sports 5, our customers have never had such an unrivalled choice of football. And for the first time, we’re inviting every Sky, Virgin Media, TalkTalk and UPC household to enjoy all seven Sky Sports channels free for the opening day of the season.”

Simon Green, head of BT Sport, added: “We are absolutely thrilled to have secured some superb matches for the start of the 2014/15 season. On the opening day of the season, all eyes will be on Louis van Gaal fresh from the Netherlands’ World Cup efforts and the start of his tenure with Manchester United.

“We’ll show the current title holders Manchester City four times before October ends, including the fascinating clash with Arsenal, and both teams also meet exclusively live on BT Sport in the FA Community Shield on Sunday, August 10.

“We’ll also have plenty of games involving top teams playing each other. One that really catches the eye is when Chelsea travel to Anfield on November 8.”
