Sky Sports Monday Night Football Studio

Viewers will see Sky Sports’ new studio for the first time this evening.

It will be on air from 6.30pm for the first Monday Night Football of the 2023/24 season.

Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Karen Carney and David Jones will make their debut in the space to analyse the first weekend of action from the Premier League as well present the exclusively live broadcast of Manchester United v Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Initially the studio will be used for Monday Night Football and later this month, for US Open Tennis coverage which gets underway from Monday 28th August.

Ben Wickham, Sky Sports Director of Creative Output, said: “We wanted to create a modular space that brings the latest technology to our customer, allows us to showcase the joy of sport, and capture the huge advances in technology that are happening rapidly.

“As well as sport, it takes inspiration from cinema and entertainment, with the tech involved allowing us to be brave and add an entire new dimension to our output. The options are endless for future content presented from this studio.”

The state-of-the-art studio has many features which have never been seen before as part of sports broadcasting in the UK & Ireland, including a super wide high-res screen and a virtual canopy roof.

There’s also a LED floor which allows analyst and presenters to better use the wealth of data available from live match action.

Jonathan Licht, Sky Sports Managing Director, added: “Sky Sports has been at the forefront of broadcasting innovation since our inception over 30 years ago. The new studio unveiled today demonstrates our commitment to continuing to give sports fans the most entertaining viewing experience possible of the biggest and most-loved events in the sporting calendar.”

Manchester United v Wolves is live from the new studio on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League from 6.30pm.
