BBC Newsreaders Susanna Reid, Fiona Bruce and Sophie Raworth have been busy rehearsing for tonight’s special performance for Children In Need..

At just gone 11pm, they will be joined by Nicholas Owen, Ben Brown and Chris Hollins to perform two songs from the musical, Mama Mia and Dancing Queen.

Susanna replaced Kate Silverton who had to pull out following a back injury.

  • I might joke about Fiona’s singing and claim her HD ad was dropped because someone complained about seeing her chest freckles in high definition on my blog at myspace.com/mib11 but in all seriousness I think she is not only beautiful, and a fabulous presenter, but her singing voice is pretty good too. Mind you I wouldn’t tell her that as it might go to her head and she takes it up full time! Hopefully the Goddess of the BBC will be doing her stuff for the Beeb for many years to come. I have to admit Susanna and Sophie were first class too so well done ladies you did CIN proud.

Now can I replace Fifi’s agent after this praise…?

  • Answers?

Did they mime? It certainly looked that way to me.

  • From what I understand they go to the sound recording studio to do their singing to record the soundtrack so I would imagine they use the soundtrack on the night. So even if they do mime they are doing so to their own voices. As Fifi Le Brucey can’t help singing and has done so in front of audiences before I rather suspect she wouldn’t mime but I’m not privy to that info. Perhaps Fiona renamed it Sam an’ Mia after her children…
