  • I was wodering if Sky News were running a special programme on the 20th March 2004 to mark the 1st Annerversery of the start of the Iraq War……If not I would reccomend this. I would also like to see the a behind scenes look at how they bought the news to us!

Was also wondering which person will you remeber from Iraq War 2 and Sky’s coverage of it? Here are some suggestions…….

    David Chater

    Francis Tusa

    Jeremy Thompson

    “Comical” Ali

    Vince Brooks

    Tommy Franks

Without doubt it is the former Iraqi Information Minister – Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf (aka “Comical Ali”), that I’ll remember the most. Sky News provided excellent coverage of last year’s ‘War in Iraq’ with many brilliant in-depth reports, and there was plenty of serious interviews and briefings, but ‘Comical Ali’ stole the show for me. With his insistence that the Iraqi armed forces were crushing the infidel invaders! What a character.

I also enjoyed the Francis Tusa stuff in the Sky News studio. But for entertainment value alone, ‘Comical Ali’ will be remembered evermore from the Iraq War 2003.

I remember Chris Vernon, British Military Spokesman!

I saw his interview during the war…don’t know if it was Julie or Lorna…

Comical Ali of course, the poor man.

Sky News point of view – David Chater without a doubt. Could you live and work in a city bombarded day and night? Have your every movement watched, questioned? His reports were outstanding and far better than any I saw on any other channel. And I have to be honest, there was a news channel in particular I always felt was ‘behind’ on the news. It wasn’t Sky of course.
