Melbourne weather presenter David Brown has joined the Seven Network’s Sunrise, starting from the 28th of January. The qualified meteoroligist, who joined Seven in 1993 after positions at the Bureau of Meteorology and Network Ten, takes over from Monique Wright, who recently scaled back her commitments to the program due to commitments to The Night Cap, a new panel show set to appear on 7HD later this year.

Brown will continue to present weather for Seven News’ Melbourne bulletin.

“I absolutely love weather. I just can’t get enough of it!” he said.

“I can’t think of anything better than starting my day talking about the weather on Sunrise and finishing my day talking about weather on the 6pm news in Melbourne.”

Brown’s appointment has neccessitated the shift of the program’s weather segment, “Weather Tracker”, to Seven’s Melbourne studios.
