Jayne Secker

Jayne Secker has been a presenter on Sky News since 2009 moving to the studio after almost 10 years on the road as a correspondent.

Jayne has presented both on location and live in the studio on a huge range of news stories from the Arab Spring and Eurozone crisis to the Somerset floods and Scottish referendum. She broke the news that the Lockerbie bomber was to be freed and anchored the rolling news coverage as Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba collapsed on the pitch during an FA Cup match.

As a correspondent Jayne reported extensively from the Middle East, covering the Israeli / Hizbollah conflict, the withdrawal of settlers from Gaza, the Israeli election and the death of the spiritual leader of Hammas, Sheik Ahmed Yassin. Jayne also covered the Iraq war broadcasting live from the deck of the USS Shiloh as tomahawk missiles were fired from the vessel into Baghdad the night the war began.

Jayne was part of the Sky News team that won an RTS and Bafta for its coverage of the Soham murders; she was also a finalist in the Royal Television Society’s Young Journalist of the Year Award.
