She was Africa Correspondent from August 2020 until 2023.

Byaruhanga first joined the BBC in 2008 as a producer before spending 11 years on the World Service as a field journalist based in Uganda for 8 years and before that as a journalist for Business News.

She studied Journalism at the City University of London.
