Sports presenter Tony Gubba has died at the age of 69, following a short illness.

He spent much of his career with the BBC, where he worked on Match of the Day, Sportsnight and Grandstand.

Tony covered every Olympic Games, both summer and winter, from 1972 to 2012 and every World Cup from 1974 to 2006.

In 2006, he joined ITV’s Dancing On Ice as a commentator.
