Channel 4 News launches new podcast ‘The Fourcast’

Channel 4 News has launched a new podcast series, which will feature Channel 4’s team of specialist correspondents, producers, and presenters.

The show – The Fourcast – examines in-depth the major stories dominating the news agenda, combined their own experiences, people they meet, stories they uncover – as well as their ‘Fourcast’ on what is to come.

Each 15-20-minute episode will be hosted by digital reporter Kiran Moodley.

The show will publish twice weekly until the new year, when the team will start to up this to three or four – with the aim of creating a properly daily podcast.

In the first episode, presenter Jon Snow talks about 2020 and looks at how the pandemic has affected him personally and professionally. In the next episode, chief correspondent Alex Thomson introduces American’s president-elect position on climate change.

Next week, Jamal Osman on how countries in Africa have dealt with coronavirus, Darshna Soni on the disproportionate affect covid-19 has had on the BAME community, Lindsey Hilsum on Iran’s nuclear past and future and Ciaran Jenkins on whether the question of Scottish Independence ever really went away.

Ben de Pear, editor of Channel 4 News, said: “No one dives as deep into the news as Channel 4 News – on the TV at 7pm – now you’ll be able to listen to an extended take by our top team of correspondents on everything from the main news items to the sort of stories, investigations and insights only available on our award-winning programme.”

The podcast is available on Apple, Spotify and on Google Podcasts.
