Former X Factor contestants [[One Direction]] are to perform at the upcoming Nickelodeon’s 25th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards.

The boys – Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan – are scheduled to sing their single “What Makes You Beautiful” on the show.

The song made a notable mark on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, entering the chart at Number 28, making it the highest debut for any U.K. act since Jimmy Ray hit Number 26 fourteen years ago.

A week later, The Wanted – Jay Mcguiness, Tom Parker, Max George, Nathan Sykes and Siva Kaneswaran – broke the record by entering at Number 5.

The 2012 Kids’ Choice Awards will be presented by Will Smith live from the University of Southern California’s Galen Center in Los Angeles, on March 31. (For UK Viewers: The show will air on 1st April at 5:30pm)

“One Direction is performing on the Kids’ Choice Awards for the first time and it’s going to be scream-worthy,” said Paula Kaplan, Executive Producer of the Kids’ Choice Awards.

“While on tour with Big Time Rush, we have seen their popularity explode, and we are excited to introduce them to our audience during the month of March with exclusive access to the guys leading up to our biggest event of the year.”

One Direction will release their album “Up All Night” in the US on March 13, 2012
