Johnny Ball has become the first contestant to leave Strictly Come Dancing 2012.
The TV personality and his professional partner Iveta Lukosiute were forced into a dance-off with Daybreak presenter Richard Arnold and his partner Erin Boag after both couples polled the lowest points in the public vote.
Both couples performed their routines for a second time in the dance-off – with Johnny and Iveta dancing a fox-trot to Michael Buble’s Everything and Richard and Erin cha-chaing to ‘Love Shack’ by The B52s.
The judges – Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood – had to choose which couple to save, but becauase Ball missed a step in his routine – Craig, Darcey and Bruno voted Richard to stay.
“I think for my age I did quite, quite well,” said Johnny “I’m so disappointed I’m leaving, I really, really am.”
