How did you get started in broadcasting?
Freelancing for Sky, we lost talkback so my first broadcasting experience was hiding behind a potplant with a mobile acting as cue by shouting at the reporter

When was that?
1990

Why News broadcasting?
Something different every day. I’ve never been bored.

Where else would have viewers seen or heard you before?
Farming Today, Coutryfile, BBC local radio stations

What is your Best on-air moment?
Exclusive interview with Prince Charles

What is your Worst on-air moment?
Being called a horse by a News 24 presenter

What would you like to do before your career ends?
Interview George Bush on climate change

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Spend time with my family, read, knit, cook, try and keep in touch with all my old friends.

What advice would you give to anyone that would like to get into the broadcasting world?
Do something else first. The most important thing in broadcasting is being able to relate to people, so they want to tell your their story. I think a bit of life experience is essential for that.
