How did you get started in broadcasting?
Began by presenting an evening Asian news programme from BBC Radio Lancashire while doing my postgraduate broadcast journalism diploma – and weekend bulletins at a local independent radio station. Then got offered a contract at Radio Lancashire while on a work placement there.

When was that?
2000

Why News broadcasting?
Because I love the adrenalin and the feeling that it could all go wrong at any moment but you must be able to keep it toghether and keep the show going!

Where else would have viewers seen or heard you before?
BBC Radio Lancashire, BBC GMR in Manchester, BBC North West Today/Tonight

What is your Best on-air moment?
Presenting on BBC radio every morning for three hours during the Commonwealth Games in Manchester – at the centre of everything – fantastic guests, athletes from around the globe, the buzz, the weather (ok so it rained a bit but hey it is Manchester). Oh, and interviewing Alan Hansen – beautiful eyes

What is your Worst on-air moment?
The BIG Blooper is yet to occur – although I did ask a stupid question about Manchester United to our sports reporter once along the lines of is this the furthest the teams ever got in the competition Hmmm….. it was the Champions League.

What would you like to do before your career ends?
Everything!!!!

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Read novels, dance, run.

What advice would you give to anyone that would like to get into the broadcasting world?
Go for it – it’s the best thing since sliced bread
