Dominic Heale to leave East Midlands Today after 20 years

Dominic Heale BBC East Midlands Today

BBC East Midlands Today presenter Dominic Heale is leaving the show.

Dominic, who joined the programme in 2000 and was regularly paired with Anne Davies, will present his final show this Friday (23 October).

“It’s been a joy and a privilege to work for BBC East Midlands Today,” He said.

“I owe so much to the team behind the programme – they’re the best in the business and I shall miss them enormously.

“I’ll also miss my daily live half-hour with Anne, who has been a great friend and a huge support.

“And, of course, I’ll miss meeting and interviewing the people of the East Midlands who have been endlessly fascinating – and unfailingly kind to me.”

Dominic joins a growing list of long serving journalists to leave the BBC due to budget cuts.

He joins Justin Leigh, Stuart Flinders, Roger Finn, and Harry Gration who have all recently announced they are leaving the corporation.

Justin left last Friday, while Harry’s last show will be this Wednesday.
