Former professional tennis player Dan Lobb joined Sky Sports News in 2002 after working for a Sports PR company. Dan graduated in International Business at the University of Tennessee, where he was awarded a place on a tennis scholarship.
After combining his role in a PR company with presenting/production work for a cable station, and a few shifts for Channel 5 News, Dan moved to Sky.
On completion of training with the Sports News production team Dan moved in front of the camera, first as a sports reporter and presenter for Sky News before joining Sky Sports News.
Dan had the honour of being on air when the Roy Keane saga broke during last year’s World Cup. The story was one of the biggest ever covered by Sky Sports News and it is that unpredictiblity about the job that Dan loves.
Dan has an impressive claim to fame – he has beaten Tim Henman at tennis – and his sporting talents and interests are numerous.
As a child he was ranked in the top seven of his age group at gymnastics, and he can still perform handstands! He is a lifelong fan of his local football club, Southampton, and is warming to rugby.
Away from work, Dan spends as much time as possible on the golf course but he can also be found on the tennis courts or, from time-to-time, playing football. If Dan was given the opportunity to interview anyone in the world he would choose Michael Jordan, who he describes as the greatest sportsman of all time.
