Charlie Stayt

Charlie Stayt is currently is a presenter on BBC Breakfast.

Prior to this, Charlie was a presenter at Five News and presented the News At Noon bulletin.

Charlie joined ITN in 1995 as a reporter for Five News. In 2001, he took up his role of presenting the Five News Thursday and Friday evening bulletins and updates as well as some weekend bulletins. He also presented many of Five’s current affairs programmes.

When Sky took over production of Five News in January 2005, Charlie moved to Five News At Noon, presenting the bulletin five days a week. Just over a month later, Charlie announced he was leaving the service and has since presented a number of documentaries and investigations for the channel. He later appeared on Sky News.

Charlie also fronted Channel 5’s current affairs programme It Happened to Me and the reality game show Jailbreak but his background is in commercial radio news presenting.

He was born in Gloucester but now lives in London with his wife and two children.
