Victoria Azarenka v Maria Sharapova – US Open 2012 – Live on Sky Sports

Today is women’s semi-finals day at U.S Open 2012.

The world number one Victoria Azarenka will take on the Russian Maria Sharapova in the first semi-final.

The Belarusian has had an easy journey to the semis, losing no more than two games a set until the quarters when the defending champion Samantha Stosur won the second set 6-4, and took the third set to a tie-break.

Maria on the other hand was showing similar form to that of Azarenka in the first three round, but had to go the full distance in the fourth and quarter final rounds.

The match is scheduled at the Arthur Ashe Stadium for around 6.45pm UK time, and will broadcast live on Sky Sports 2.

Following that match is the second semi-final between Serena Williams and Sara Errani.

The American has smashed her way through the rounds and hasn’t lost a set this competition, but comes up against the Italian who only lost one set and that was in the first round.
