The final Tennis Grand Slam event of the year begins today at Flushing Meadows in New York.
All 14 days of U.S. Open 2012 will broadcast live on Sky Sports and Eurosport.
Novak Djokovic triumphed here 12 months ago, but several seeds perished at this stage, including Viktor Troicki and Mikhail Youzhny, who lost to Alejandro Falla and Ernests Gublis respectively.
Petra Kvitova and Li Na were the highest-profile seeds in the women’s event to exit the competition in the opening round last year, which ended with Australian Samantha Stosur winning her first Grand Slam title.

Great Britain’s Andy Murray will take on Alex Bogomolov Jr. Roger Federer will meet America’s Donald Young, and Novak Djokovic takes on Paolo Lorenzi.
Murray’s match is schedule for 6pm on Arthur Ashe Stadium, after defending champion Samantha Stosur’s opening match with Petra Martic.
The women’s world number one, Victoria Azarenka, will entertain Alexandra Panova. Sabine Lisicki, who knocked Maria Sharapova out of Wimbledon 2012, takes on Sorana Cirstea.
Kim Clijsters entertains the American Victoria Duval. Great Britain’s silver medallist Laura Robson will take on Samantha Crawford from 9pm, and Heather Watson will meet Li Na at 4pm.
Also, Maria Sharapova meets Melinda Czink, and the Williams sisters will take on fellow Americans as Venus Williams entertains Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Serena Williams battles with Coco Vandeweghe.
U.S. Open 2012 will broadcast from 4pm on Sky Sports and Eurosport.
Eurosport will re-air the 2011 US Open final between World number one Novak Djokovic and defending champion Rafael Nadal from 2pm today.
