ESPN will broadcast live Premiership football today, as league action returns after the international break.

Liverpool will travel to the Stadium of Light to take on Martin O’Neill’s Sunderland.

Sunderland recorded a 1-0 win in last season’s corresponding fixture, but The Reds will be determined to avoid such a result this evening, with Brendan Rodgers aiming to lead them to their first Premier League win under his tenure.

Liverpool have won four of their last six visits to the Stadium of Light – but have lost two of their last three.

The losing team has failed to score a goal in the last six fixtures between the two sides at the Stadium of Light.

BBC’s Mark Lawrenson said “There will be a big crowd and a great atmosphere at Sunderland against a Liverpool side who, while they look good on the eye, lack a cutting edge.”

The match coverage begins at 4.30pm on ESPN, kick-off 5.30pm.
