Southampton welcome Fulham to St Mary’s in the Barclays Premier League this afternoon..

The Saints play host to the Cottagers for the first time since 2005.

The opening fixtures were unkind to Nigel Adkins’ side with clashes against Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal, which resulted in a string of losses that also included a home defeat to Wigan Athletic.

While the home fans will hope to see their team return to winning ways after two years of much success, Martin Jol’s Fulham will view this as an opportunity to improve upon their away record in recent season.

Southampton and Fulham are two of the three teams yet to draw a game in the Premier League this season.

Fulham have won three and drawn four of their eight Premier League meetings with Southampton.
