San Diego Chargers v New Orleans Saints – NFL action live on Channel 4

Channel 4 will broadcast live NFL action tonight, as the San Diego Chargers take on the New Orleans Saints from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in the Big Easy.

The Chargers have been less than the sum of their parts in recent seasons, but set off on the right track this season and look like a good bet to make the play-offs from the relative comfort of the AFC West.

Philip Rivers has all the qualities to take his place among the league’s elite quarterbacks, just as his Saints counterpart, Drew Brees, did last season with a record-breaking passing year.

The Saints, though, are struggling to escape from the shadow of the Bounty Scandal, an alleged bonus payments scheme based on injuring opposition players that is still rumbling through the courts.

It’s led to suspensions for Head Coach, Sean Payton and his stand-in, Joe Vitt, both of whom will miss the game tonight.
