
The first session of the 39th edition of the Ryder Cup will take place this afternoon, as sixteen of the world’s best golfer tee-off in the first of two Foursomes sessions.
Team captains Davis Love III for the USA and José María Olazábal for Europe announced the first pairing at the end of last night’s Opening Ceremony.
In the first match, tee time 1.20pm BST, Rookie Brandt Snedeker teams with veteran Jim Furyk to take on Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell.
Keegan Bradley and Phil Mickelson will meet Luke Donald and Sergio Garcia in the second Foursomes match – tee-time 1.35pm.
Zac Johnson of three Ryder Cups is paired with USA rookie Jason Dufner. They will take on the European team of Lee Westwood and Francesco Molinari at 1.50pm
The final Foursomes match of the first session, scheduled for 2.05pm, sees Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker paired against Europe’s Ian Poulter and Justin Rose.
Sky Sports will have exclusive live coverage across all three days, and the BBC will offer nightly highlights at the end of each day’s play.
