The BBC will broadcast live coverage of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2013 Group 6 qualifying match at the Bescot Stadium in Walsall this evening, as England take on Croatia.
A win will see England top the table and progress automatically to next summer’s tournament in Sweden.
Having recorded a 6-0 thrashing of the Croats in the reverse fixture in March, Hope Powell’s ladies will begin as overwhelming favourites to secure the victory they need in their last match of the qualifying stage.
England coach, Hope Powell is delighted with the continued support of the BBC: “I say it every time, but it really is fantastic to have the weight of the BBC behind us. When they show our games they really help to promote women’s football in this country and their coverage is always excellent.
“They did a great job in broadcasting the last four women’s international tournaments and I really enjoyed their coverage of the Olympics as well. I hope we can put on a good show for them in Walsall but the most important thing is to get the win which will send us to next summer’s Euros.”
Jacqui Oatley will be joined by Sue Smith and Faye White with commentary from Nigel Adderley and Lucy Ward.
The build up begins at 4.45pm on BBC Two, kick-off 5pm.
