The 2012 UEFA Super Cup will take place tonight with live coverage on ITV and Sky TV.
The match, to be played at the Stade Louis II in Monaco, will see last season’s Champions League winners Chelsea take on the Europa League winners Atletico Madrid.
Chelsea defeated Bayern Munich on penalties in May to win Europe’s most prestigious piece of silverware, while Atletico crushed Athletic Bilbao 3-0 to be crowned Europa League winners.
The Spanish outfit won this match as recently as 2010, when they overcame Inter Milan 2-0, while the Blues’ only previous appearance in this contest was in 1998, when they were 1-0 victors over Real Madrid.
Coverage of the match will broadcast live on ITV1 from 7.30pm and on Sky Sports 2 from 7pm, kick-off is at 7.45pm.
