Brighton & Hove Albion will travel to the County Ground tonight to take on Swindon Town in the first round of Capital One Cup.

Swindon are gearing up for their first season back in League 1 after being named champions of League 2 last season, while the travelling Seagulls followed up winning promotion from League 1 during the 2010/11 campaign by excelling in their first season in the Championship last time around.

They mixed it with the big boys at the top throughout the season and were unlucky to miss out on the Play-Offs, finishing 10th.

Brighton have won 43 of the side’s 110 competitive games with Swindon since they first met in 1906, with the Robins winning 39.

The sides last met during the 2010/11 League 1 season, with the Seagulls winning both matches 2-1 on their way to the title, while Swindon were relegated.

Swindon progressed in their only previous League Cup tie, courtesy of a 4-1 win in a third round replay in November 1994.

The match will broadcast live on Sky Sports 1 from 7.30pm, kick-off 7.45pm.

The League Cup, formerly known as the Carling Cup, has been renamed to the Capital One Cup for the 2012/13 to 2016/17 seasons. The final will take place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 24 February 2013.
