The Birth of the Royal Baby 2013

Just before 6am this morning, the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton was admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital in London in the early stages of labour.

A statement from Kensington Palace said: “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge has been admitted this morning to St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London in the early stages of labour.

“The Duchess travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital with The Duke of Cambridge.”

The news channels – BBC News and Sky News – switched from bulletin mode to Royal Baby breaking news mode, sending some of their key presenters to key locations.
