ITV confirms line-up for ‘The ITV Referendum Debate’

ITV today confirmed the line-up of senior politicians who will appear in the network’s major live debate on 9th June.

Senior politicians appearing to back remaining in the European Union are Angela Eagle and Amber Rudd, representing Britain Stronger In Europe, and SNP Leader Nicola Sturgeon.

Representing the arguments for leaving the European Union are Boris Johnson, Andrea Leadsom, and Gisela Stuart, from Vote Leave.

This two-hour debate, moderated by ITV News’ Julie Etchingham, is the second of ITV’s major live event European Referendum programmes, and will be broadcast live from a London location.

Format

The politicians will each in turn make short opening statements at the beginning of the programme and closing statements at the conclusion of the debate.

During the two-hour live debate, politicians will address questions posed by the studio audience.

The format will allow each politician to give a short uninterrupted answer to each question, before the floor is opened up to free flowing debate, moderated by Julie Etchingham.

Cameron and Farage Live

Ahead of The ITV Referendum Debate, the first of ITV’s major European Union Referendum live event programmes, Cameron and Farage Live: The EU Referendum, will air at 9pm on Tuesday 7th June on ITV.

Julie Etchingham will present the hour-long live programme in which both politicians will answer questions from a studio audience. Nigel Farage will take questions first, followed by David Cameron. The audience will pose their questions directly to the politicians.
