Sky News has just launched it’s Vote 05 coverage with a rotating colour box on the side of the screen with the latest polls in a small box below it and to the left of the ticker. The only problem for me is that that box gets chopped off by the bottom of my television (but overall very impressive so far)

Are we likely to see a complete new graphics package after the weekend or just minor tweaks to the current and the addition of the animated slug bottom left?

Don’t miss ‘The Boulton Factor’ tonight at 11pm.

    Other things to look forward to;

Sky News ‘Worm Polls’ on key speeches.
    Sky News ‘Reality Check’
‘Sky Across Britain’ Flying to key seats.
‘If I were PM’ with top public figures – from Monday.

YouGov are conducting a poll as we speak for release tomorrow, for Sky News – the first after the election was called.

Great to hear the brilliant Julie Etch is anchoring the May05 evening’s coverage. and the equally good Andrew Wilson is in the UK. Good to see Emma back here & I much prefer Greg’s reporting in the field to his presenting. He may smile outside .

Andrew Wilson and Michelle Clifford will be with Tony Blair; Emma Hurd and Dominic Waghorn will report on Michael Howard?s campaign and Greg Milam and Lisa Holland will travel with Charles Kennedy.

Breaking News: All three leaders are to debate on Question Time on 28 April.

    Unconfirmed as yet.

BBC scoops party leaders for live TV first

    Dominic Timms
    Tuesday April 5, 2005

Tony Blair, Michael Howard and Charles Kennedy have agreed to appear on live television for the first time in the same programme.

The leaders of the three major political parties will each be grilled in a special edition of Question Time on April 28.

The BBC said today it had tried to persuade them to do an American-style head-to-head debate but Labour refused.

However, the corporation is still heralding this as a major scoop – such was the party leaders’ nervousness about taking part in live debates during the last election that the BBC was forced to broadcast three separate Question Time specials

I must say, this looks extremely interesting. As I mentioned some time ago this will be my first multi channel election and at the moment I am certainly thinking of recording Sky News’ coverage of election night.

Yay, election time! Pity that we don’t get catchy new music as we did in 2001 though. Hands up everyone who misses that tune.

I love Adam Boulton at times like this – he seems to be about the only person in the country who really looks as if they are enjoying themselves right up until the day of the election, whereas everyone else by then is fed up and wishing that the damn thing was over and done with. ^_^

I too like the sound of much of what is on offer, but I doubt I’ll see much. Perhaps that is a good thing in the long term actually – I won’t suffer political overload.

Maybe we’ll get a new catchy tune with The Boulton Factor tonight..?

If it’s anything like the Krypton Factor, this is going to be TV Gold. …. hehe.

The campaign is only 12 hours old and I’m already fed up with it.

Do we need the Deputy Prime Minister to punch a voter in the face again to liven it up?

Any predictions for a ‘defining moment’ in this campaign? Kinnock falling over, ‘The Sun Wot Won It’, ‘Save The Pound’, Prezza’s Punch.

I have a hunch that security will become a big issue – I think Mr Blair may well need to protect himself from real people.. The more we see people berating him in the street, the worse things will get for Labour. It’s the same for Howard I would think, but it’s Blair that’s been in power & ‘responsible’ for everyone’s delayed bunion operations and piles cream prescription prices…

….we await some real news! ..Maybe that’s coming ‘From Monday, live on Sky’ too..?!

Voting is not compulsory in the UK is it???

    (Personally I prefer compulsory voting)

WHat role does the Chancellor perform? We dont have Chancellor’s in Australia…(well we probably do, its just called something else)

The House of Lords is still not elected right?
