ITV announces General Election 2015 line-up; featuring Tom Bradby, Alastair Stewart & Julie Etchingham

ITV today announced that ITV News political editor Tom Bradby will host the network’s coverage on General Election night on 7th May 2015.

Alastair Stewart will present ITV’s coverage the day after the election, analysing the final results and focusing on the formation of the government.

Throughout the campaign, ITV will air twice-weekly live editions of The Agenda, the topical discussion programme hosted by Tom Bradby, which debates the big issues with panelists including high profile political leaders and a range of cultural guests.

Julie Etchingham, co-presenter of News at Ten and presenter of current affairs strand Tonight, will chair the anticipated Leaders’ Debate on ITV, if agreement is reached that they should take place again ahead of the General Election.

ITV hosted the First Election Debate in 2010 between the leaders of the three biggest parties, the first time ever that such a televised debate had been held in the UK between the main party leaders. The debate peaked with 10.3million viewers and averaged 9.4million across the 90-minute programme.

“We’re delighted to have such a strong presenting line-up to lead our coverage through what could be one of the most interesting elections in recent times, said Michael Jermey, Director of News and Current Affairs at ITV.

“Tom, Julie and Alastair will bring a wealth of knowledge, insight and experience to our reporting of the 2015 election.”
