I love dancing on Ice so if Kay is taking part it will be really good. Also I used to love Boyzone (how sad) so seeing Steven Gatelyon ice will be a laugh

Neil Sean mentioned this a while back. Thought it was an April Fools joke seeing as he said it

Will she still be doing Lunchtime Live?

So its has been confirmed that Kay Burley will be taking part on ITV1 Dancing on Ice. I found an interesting little article on Digital Spy

Tension between ‘Ice’ stars Ulrika, Kay?
    Saturday, December 30 2006, 11:32 GMT

    By Daniel Kilkelly

Ulrika Jonsson is determined to prove her worth against Sky News host Kay Burley on the new series of Dancing On Ice.

Rumours of possible tension between Jonsson and Burley have been reported today, following ITV’s confirmation of the eleven celebrities taking part in the competition.

An insider told The Mirror: “When Ulrika started out she was the PA in the newsroom Kay worked in. Ulrika was way down the pecking order, so now she’s desperate to prove she’s better on the ice than Kay, who used to boss her about. It will be interesting to see how they get on.

“It might look glamorous, but the learning process is tougher than they could have imagined.”

I think they are both brave to have a go at this , i hope they come through unscathed and enjoy themselves.

Neither are young women so it takes a bit of nerve to try and have a go at skating seriously . If Kay was reading this i’d suggest if she wants my vote then short skirts and small pants are the way to get noticed in the right way on the show. ^_^

She doesn’t have to go as far as some of these other wannabe celebs newsreaders have and sleep with your partner.
Not unless she wants to anyway.

On a couldn’t care less scale of zero to 10, this programme rates about 10 million.
C list celebrities dancing on ice? And they call this entertainment?
    Brign back the test card!

Let’s all keep our fingers crossed and hope it decends into a catfight – my money’s on Burley, she looks like she might bite and pull hair!

Yeah that would make great tv and Im hoping that Kay slips on the ice and goes flying….just because she has such a hard faced image when she is on sky news

Poor Kay, right at the bottom. That will be a blow to the ego. If she goes out Colin Brazier will be in for it!

Phil and Kay are through to next week. Kay and Neil Fox had a skate off, with kay winning 4 votes to 1.

I personally think Kay was pretty good tonight, I remember seeing her last year trying to skate – she was pretty dire then, she’s done a good job.

I do think Kay’s going to have a hard time though, one of the judges clearly don’t like her.

That judge that hates her is a total pratt. He thinks that he is Simon Cowell. At least Kay survived to skate another week

Tough show for Kay and thats a good thing. She skated well but was rigid and cool instead of relaxing and being more fluid and stylish. She wasn’t a crowd favourite either . Kay needs to be warmer, less of that fixed icy smile. She needs to let her partner dictate how she should act and give us nicer softer friendlier Kay. Can she do that or is she stuck as the cool newsgirl?

Ulrika skated ok and was safely in the top half . I think she’s going to be around longer after this first week.

I think the trailer before she skated wasn’t helpful . What did she call Fred , a Tw*t or a C*** . Either way it was not
a clip to endear herself to the crowd or to the judges. I think she’s got a real struggle on unless some others fall on the show.

I still think shows like this have too much of a popularity contest aspect to it and I’d prefer the skating on the night to decide the outcome.

She ‘s still got her sense of humour after I read one of her comments about what she thought of the rude judge Jason

I take it that Kay is still working as normal on sky news despite being on this show as well.

Oh come on – she was crap – Awful grotesque smile – looking very old under that cracked makeup – little fat legs – Stiff – telling the judge that she has a 13 year old at home and if he spoke to her that way she would have sent him to bed.
She was rubbish.Did you see the way she gushed over the pairs that got selected for the following week? Oh darling good luck… blah blah blah
She was embarrasing, but then she always is when she puts her face on the TV.
Do you think that the whole of the American east seaboard will be wiped out if she loses !!!

She wasnt that bad just a bit slow getting around and yes stiff, I’ve seen 12 foot ladders with more flex than Kay when she went over his shoulder. She has the tone and stretch of a typical 45 year old. 61 must have been a bad vintage for women . I should know , my sister is 45 and is a completely vacuous irritating bitch but anyway back to the topic.

Unfortunately when Kay ‘ shoots from the lip ‘ it goes down like a lead balloon, the jade goody reference was a real gaffe. Somehow kay has to loosen up in every sense , get out there on the rink and dance and skate to a good tune and just go for it. She should cut out the attempts at smart ass talking on DOI too.

    Problem solved . B)
