There’s another untimely death in the news broadcasting world tonight.
BBC reporter Lola Almudevar died near La Paz in the early hours of Sunday morning after her taxi collided with two trucks, which had already crashed.
She was on her way to cover political unrest in the south of the country, Bolivia. She was 29 years old.
In a statement, the BBC said: "Lola was only 29 years old and had been making a major impression on everyone who’d heard her lively and original journalism. She was building a great reputation and will be terribly missed by us all."
My thoughts are with Lola’s friends and family at this dreadful time.
